I’ve been in therapy on and off since 2005. That’s twenty years of talk therapy. In the span of those 20 years I’ve gotten my undergrad in psychology, gotten married, had three children, received my master’s in counseling psychology and have been practicing as a therapist for over five years. And I’ve also been on a journey to heal myself.

This journey has had many twists and turns, many starts and stops and detours and most recently I have come to the conclusion that I have gleaned as much as I can from traditional talk therapy. It has been life changing. I have had a handful of therapists that are so dear to me and who’s guidance and wisdom I carry with me almost daily. But there does come a point, especially with those of us healing from trauma, where we have just talked about it enough. Where continuing to dip the ladle into all the pain has diminishing returns and in some cases can even further inflame rather than help.

So where do we go from here you may be wondering?
